Bronchial asthma: the use of dietary supplements for treatment
Bronchial asthma is a widespread disease throughout the world, more than 100 million people suffer from it. It is clear that this is due to environmental degradation, exposure to household allergens, and infectious diseases. Bronchial asthma is a chronic inflammatory disease of the airways. In the presence of a predisposition to bronchial asthma, the inflammatory process causes recurring bouts of coughing, shortness of breath, a feeling of pressure in the chest, distant wheezing. Inflammation makes the respiratory tract sensitive to allergens, chemical irritants, tobacco smoke, cold air, and exercise. When exposed to them, swelling and spasm of the airways occur, they produce an increased amount of mucus and they become hypersensitive to external influences. The resulting bronchial obstruction is usually reversible both spontaneously and under the influence of adequate therapy. The most effective treatment for atopic (allergic) asthma in children is the elimination of the causative allergen, but in practice this is not always possible. In adults, as a rule, infectious-allergic bornchial asthma is diagnosed, which can be effectively controlled, but it cannot be cured. The main goals of bronchial asthma therapy are as follows: 1. Prevention of the development of life-threatening conditions (status asthma) 2. Elimination or mitigation of the clinical manifestations of the disease 3. Reduction in the frequency and severity of exacerbations 4. Normalization or improvement of respiratory function indicators 5. Cancellation or reduction in demand in bronchodilatory therapy 6. Prevention of side effects of drug therapy 7. Prevention of disability. The first point — emergency assistance to patients with bronchial asthma is fast-acting allopathic agents aimed at relaxing the smooth muscles of the bronchi, thinning sputum. However, points 2-7 can be performed using dietary supplements. So, oxygen therapy is carried out by «Aquagen» 8-15 drops x 3-4 times a day with water (at least 250 ml) 30 minutes before meals for 7-10 days. It provides the need for oxygen, bactericidal effect and, in addition, is used as an antioxidant, immunostimulant, regulator of alkaline-acid balance. In the presence of infectious and inflammatory changes in the broncho-pulmonary system, an anti-inflammatory and bactericidal agent «Silver, gold, copper-colloidal complex» is prescribed, in which silver molecules block the reproduction of bacteria, viruses and fungi in 650 species. At the same time, gold expands the spectrum of antibacterial action, and copper, being an antioxidant, improves the function of the adrenal gland, participating in the synthesis of catecholamines. Take 5-15 drops x 3 (5) r. per day for 5 days. As producers of interferon in the fight against infection, «Pau de Arco» («Lapacho») can be successfully used — take 1-2 caps. per day 30 minutes before meals for 2-3 weeks and «Stress Out» («Tonus Plus») — take 20-30 drops daily with meals for 2 weeks. At the same time, prevention of respiratory diseases is achieved due to the immunomodulating effect of these dietary supplements. The appointment of mucolytic drugs in patients with asthma is pathogenetically justified, however, all allopathic synthetic drugs are unsafe due to their high allergenicity. The complex of natural highly active enzymes of plant and animal origin «Biozim» not only has an anti-inflammatory, fibrinolytic effect, but also accelerates the lysis of toxic metabolic products, reduces the viscosity of sputum, destroys immune complexes, and increases the body’s immunity. The complex of enzymes included in «Biozim», first of all, Bromelain (500 mg) is combined with licorice (100 mg), due to the steroyl-like action of which. Biozim» for the treatment of bronchial asthma is becoming one of the most effective means. During the period of exacerbation of bronchial asthma, «Biozim» is prescribed 2 capsules x 3 (4) rubles per day for 10 days with a break of 15-20 days. The course of treatment is repeated in smaller doses — 1 capsule x 3 (4) r. per day on an empty stomach 40 minutes before meals. It is advisable to repeat the course of treatment with «Biozym» 2-3 times a year, even if there is no exacerbation of the disease. The number of attacks decreases and the duration of one attack shortened when taking «Licorice», which has a corticosteroid-like effect: anti-allergic, expectorant, anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial. At the same time, the nonspecific resistance of the body increases. The course of treatment is 10-14 days, 1 ton x 3-4 times a day 30 minutes before meals. How an antihistamine that prevents an allergic reaction, Quercetin can be used — 1 capsule x 3 times a day 30 minutes before meals for 2 weeks. It is advisable to combine it with taking other bioflavonoids ov — ORS 95 — and «Super With prolonged action», which in themselves are powerful anti-inflammatory drugs that normalize the activity of the immune system and prevent the development of infection, even if there are initial manifestations of it. ORS 95+ (Pycnogenol) is prescribed 1 caps. x 2-3 p. per day and for 10 days, then 1 caps. x 1 p. per day until the end of the package. It is advisable to carry out 2 courses of treatment per year. «Super With prolonged action» is prescribed at 1.0 (2.0) per day with exacerbation of bronchial asthma. In the stage of remission, 100-300 mg x 2 r. per day for 1-2 months 2 times a year. Secondary prevention of exacerbation of bronchial asthma is based on the elimination of contact with causally significant allergens and non-allergenic triggers. From the nutrition of patients with bronchial asthma, foods that are a proven cause of an exacerbation of the disease should be excluded. The best way to get rid of food allergens is to use Cambridge Nutrition (KN), a balanced composition of vegetable proteins, fats and carbohydrates, as well as non-synthesized vitamins and minerals, which will minimize contact with allergens during an exacerbation of bronchial asthma. In the future, with the remission of the disease, the Cambridge meal can be used once a day as a supplement to food. Drugs, the use of which caused an allergy, are subject to complete exclusion from the use. In the apartments of patients it is not recommended to keep aquariums, dry food for fish (daphnia), which has a pronounced allergenic activity. If sensitization to the feather is detected, you should part with the feather pillow (use synthetic winterizer), refuse any contact with birds. With «pollen» bronchial asthma, one should temporarily move to another climatic zone, avoiding the flowering period of causally significant plants. The frequency of exacerbation of bronchial asthma can be reduced by preventing the impact of non-specific trigger factors: passive smoking, stressful situations, physical activity. Viral respiratory infection should be considered as a risk factor for bronchial asthma, so it is necessary to use the above set of measures to reduce the incidence of acute respiratory viral infections.
