Nonspecific and specific infections of the genital organs occupy a leading place in the structure of morbidity in gynecology and are one of the main causes of reproductive dysfunction. Therefore, the treatment of genital tract infections is one of the main problems. Despite the widespread introduction of powerful antibiotics, female genital infections are on the rise. In connection with the foregoing, in recent decades, interest has increased in methods of immunological influence on the pathological process and the body as a whole, the use of immunocorrective drugs and the development of more effective combined treatment on this basis. According to modern concepts, the development of genital infections is due to two factors: the introduction of a pathogenic microorganism and a decrease in human immunity — local and general. The use of modern antibacterial drugs, along with a positive effect on the body, enhances the state of immunosuppression. In this regard, modern principles of treatment in gynecology provide for the inclusion of immunostimulants in the combined treatment. Very often, immunostimulants have a large number of side effects and are often poorly tolerated by patients; in some cases, prolonged use leads to impaired function of the liver and other organs. The above does not apply to NSP products. Plants such as Echinacea, Cat’s Claw, Pau D’Arco, Astragalus, Ginseng, Licorice, Red Clover, Goldenseal, Alfalfa, Dandelion, Garlic, Milk Thistle, St. John’s Wort have a good immunocorrective effect and are part of many NSP products. Antioxidant drugs ORS-95, Super E, Super C, Cleansing tea, Zink gluconate, selenium and others play an important role in immune correction programs. Preparations: Cambridge nutrition, Lecithin, Coenzyme Q10, Evening primrose oil, Omega-3, Omega-6 act at the cellular level and significantly increase the viability of mythocytes and macrophages. Echinacea is an excellent immunomodulator, completely non-toxic and non-mutagenic. During 7 years of observation, no side effects were noted. This allows you to prescribe drugs also during pregnancy. The drug has a multifaceted effect on the body, being a non-specific stimulant of the immune system. The drug acts as an antibiotic, has an anti-inflammatory effect, stimulates the adrenal cortex, stimulates the properdino-complementary system, has an interferon-like effect, enhances nonspecific cellular immunity. Most often, combined regimens for the treatment of inflammatory diseases of the genitals include echinacea, cat’s claw, as well as selenium, zinc. These drugs stimulate the immune system well, increasing the body’s ability to resist, fight and eliminate the effects of bacterial and viral infections. When the above drugs were included in complex therapy, a significant increase in the percentage of recovery (up to 95%) was observed compared with the control group. The use of NSP immunomodulators provides for the complete absence of complications and side effects, the possibility of prescribing during pregnancy, a good clinical effect, which consists in the faster disappearance of clinical manifestations and the rapid achievement of remission, improvement in general and local immunity, and a significant reduction in the risk of relapse. This allows the widespread use of drugs with an immunomodulatory effect in inflammatory diseases of all human organs and systems.
