Dead Sea Mud belong to the group of chlorine-magnesium-calcium silts of high mineralization. Silt muds are similar in their mineral composition to the water part of the Dead Sea. They contain salts of Mg, Ca, K, Br, I, S, Cu, Zn, Fe, Si, Co, Mn, etc. They include feldspars, quartz, mica, kaolin (white clay), bentonite, as well as biologically active substances (BAS) that stimulate the immune system, the neurohormonal system of the body.
Dead Sea Mud has therapeutic properties. It has an antispastic, analgesic and anti-inflammatory effect, slows down the pulse, lowers blood pressure, relaxes muscles, reduces the excitability of the nervous system, and has a sedative effect on the body. Due to the fact that mud application, as a rule, has a temperature higher than body temperature, it enhances microcirculation in the skin, muscles and internal organs, which reduces inflammation and increases trophic processes.
Mud has cosmetic properties. It normalizes all the main functions of the skin: deeply cleanses it, absorbs excess sebum, removes dead cells from the skin surface, frees pores from sebaceous secretion, reduces the secretion of sebaceous glands and accelerates the maturation of long-term acne elements. All this disposes the skin to receive biologically active substances and moisture. As a result, the metabolism in skin cells improves, blood circulation is stimulated, irritation and inflammation are reduced, wrinkles are smoothed out, the aging process of the skin is slowed down, which acquires a young, fresh and healthy look. Mode of application: Apply mud to the entire surface of the head, make a light massage from the periphery to the back of the head (crown). The best effect is the alternation of mud and salt procedures every other day. Dead Sea mud is heated in a water bath to a temperature of 40-42 0C, applied to the affected joint with a layer of 2-3 mm, covered with plastic wrap and wrapped in a warm blanket for 20 minutes, after which it is washed off with warm water without soap. After the procedure, it is advisable to lie down under the covers for an hour. The next day, take a bath: 100-250 g of Dead Sea salt per bath at a water temperature of 37-39 0C for 20 minutes, then rinse in the shower.
Attention! Baths are contraindicated for people suffering from cardiovascular diseases, hypertension, arrhythmia, cancer and people over 70 years of age. In this case, salt rubdowns, foot baths, compresses are recommended.
In the treatment of various colds, it is necessary to pre-heat the affected area from the outside, holding for 10-15 minutes in the superciliary region (with lesions of the frontal sinuses), the zygomatic region (with sinusitis) or the chest region (with bronchitis) a bag of heated sand or salt.
