What it is?

This procedure is one of the most effective cosmetology methods of fighting “for beautiful skin”. The essence of chemical peeling is the action of acids of various concentrations on the surface of the skin, as a result of which the surface layer of the skin is removed.

The first stage of the procedure is a consultation with a dermatologist who will choose the type of peeling that is right for you, taking into account all skin features and preferences.

Regardless of the type of peeling chosen, you should know that in addition to the procedure itself (the duration of the lightest peeling is 1.5-2 hours), you will have to go through a rehabilitation period (with minimal exposure, rehabilitation lasts from 3 days). This period is characterized by exfoliation of the surface layer of the skin, when the skin requires special care with the help of special products.

Chemical peels, regardless of their depth, should be carried out in specially equipped rooms and under medical supervision.

Types of chemical peels

In modern cosmetology, chemical peels are divided into:

• Surface
• Median
• deep

For superficial peels, fruit acids are most often used. Such a procedure practically does not injure the skin (a slight blush within half an hour after the procedure), it has a light, refreshing and rejuvenating effect.

Median peels affect the deeper layers of the skin. The procedure is more complex, redness of the skin lasts up to 3-5 days. After that, the surface layer begins to peel off. After a period of rehabilitation, the result is visible to the naked eye — the skin becomes noticeably younger, fine wrinkles are eliminated, the skin color changes for the better.

Deep peels are designed to treat scars, serious skin diseases, and are an alternative to plastic surgery. Acids act on the deeper layers of the skin. This procedure is very complicated and is carried out exclusively in a hospital.
