Waxing

Beauty salons offer many ways to get rid of excess body hair. But until now, according to statistics, waxing remains a favorite among women.

Hair removal with wax is difficult to classify as a pleasant cosmetic procedure. But apparently the result is worth the discomfort, since despite the improvement of technology and the emergence of many new ways of hair removal, this particular procedure continues to be the most popular cosmetic procedure in almost the whole world.

So what should you know about waxing before you take the risk and try it out for yourself?

Types of waxing

Waxing can be performed using two main technologies:

  • Epilation with low temperature waxes
  • Epilation with high temperature waxes

The first type includes both cold wax and warm wax.

Cold wax does not require heating by special methods — just hold it in your hands and body temperature will help make it softer and more pliable. This wax works on the principle of a patch and is most often used for small areas and surfaces. It should also be noted that the effectiveness of this method is quite low, because. cold wax does not capture all the hairs and requires re-treatment of the same area.

Warm wax is heated in a steam bath, and immediately cools on the skin. Removed with paper strips. It should be noted that this wax is designed to remove weak and fluffy hairs. It lacks grip to remove tough black hairs.

High temperature technology is the most efficient and effective. Wax is heated in a special jar and applied to the skin with an applicator. It completely envelops all the hairs and cools down. No paper strips required for removal. This procedure will help get rid of hard dark hairs.

How is the procedure

In order for the waxing procedure to be most painless and safe, in order to avoid inflammation and irritation, the skin should be treated with a disinfectant lotion before waxing. Do not use oil-based creams — this will cause the wax to slip off the hairs and the procedure will be painful and ineffective.

WaxingAfter applying wax and removing it with a sharp movement from the surface of the skin, the treated area should also be lubricated with lotion, but in this case, a soothing agent should be used.

Waxing can be used to remove hair from any part of the body and face.

After removal, the hairs begin a second growth cycle after 3-4 weeks.

The length of the hair for an effective procedure is 5-10 mm.

Contraindications

There are some contraindications for waxing. These include:

  • Dermatitis and any skin diseases in the active phase
  • Physical violations of the integrity of the skin (cuts, open wounds, etc.)
  • Cardiovascular diseases
  • Blood clotting disorders
  • Vascular diseases (varicose veins)
  • Hormonal problems (and as a result, increased hair growth)

But even if you do not suffer from any of the above diseases, you should consult with a specialist before the procedure, as well as do a test (epilation on a small area of skin) to find out your body’s reaction to this method of hair removal.

Let your skin be smooth and tender!
