Rosemary essential oil is produced from the aerial parts of the flowering evergreen shrub Rosmarinus officinalis of the Lamiaceae family. Most of the rosemary essential oil is α-pinene (about 30%), camphene (about 20%) and cineole (up to 10%). In a smaller amount, the composition of this product includes substances such as camphor, borneol, limonene, bornyl acetate, sesquiterpene hydrocarbon — caryophyllene, as well as various tannins, bitterness, resins.
Medicinal properties and uses of rosemary essential oil
The fresh, bright and invigorating aroma of this product perfectly stimulates the immune activity of the human body. Rosemary essential oil has a beneficial effect on the activity of a number of organs and systems. Very often it is used in diseases of the respiratory tract — it has a softening effect and cures cough.
